Designer, Puppet Designer and Director 

Rachael Canning is a Set, Costume, Puppetry Designer and Director working in live performance, for theatre, opera, and dance. Originally from Wales, Rachael trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff and has since built a rich and varied career in design and puppetry.

Her work has featured at leading venues including the RSC, the Royal Opera House, Leeds Playhouse, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Citizens Theatre, the West End and also internationally, with projects in Gothenburg, Geneva, New York, and Shanghai. Rachael was also the co-founder and co-director of the award-winning theatre company The Wrong Crowd.

Awards:
• Best Set and Costume Design – The Sleeping Beauties, Sherman Cymru (Wales Theatre Awards, 2014)
• Olivier Award nomination in 2016 for Best Family & Entertainment for Peter Pan at Regents Park Open Air Theatre.
